"Unbound: A National Exhibition of Book Art" at Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek runs from July 11 to September 19; there will be an opening reception Thursday, July 15 from 6 to 8 pm.
This survey celebrates the book as art form and includes artists who make one-of-a-kind art books as well as artists who disassemble pages, covers, and spines to create three-dimensional works.
The show features two publications from Magnolia: Hung Liu and Michael McClure's Deer Boy and Squeak Carnwath's Philosophy.
"Unbound" also includes book art from figures including Marcel Dzama, Ed Ruscha, Richard Shaw, Inez Storer, Julie Chen, John DeMerritt, William Wiley, and Andy Warhol, to name only a few. This promises to be a killer show!
