Hung Liu & Michael McClure - "Deer Boy"

Magnolia Editions is pleased to announce the publication of Deer Boy, an editioned artist's book which combines the lyricism of two Oakland-based artists – bringing together Hung Liu's imagery with the play of light and darkness in the poetry of Michael McClure.

Hung Liu is known for paintings which combine delicate, often poignant renderings with bold colors and veils of painterly drips and washes; her work explores the dynamic between the ephemeral lives of individuals and the epic sweep of history.

Michael McClure is an acclaimed poet, playwright, and Bay Area legend who has received awards and honors including a Guggenheim fellowship, an NEA grant, and the Village Voice's Obie award; you may also know him as "Pat McClear" from Jack Kerouac's Big Sur.
